Clive Benfield awarded Ambassadors Award 2009 |
| 23rd October, 2009 |
| Clive Benfield, the chairman of the K B Benfield Group, said he was ‘deeply honoured’ after picking up a major award. Mr Benfield was handed the Ambassadors Award at the 2009 Godiva Awards at the Warwick Arts Centre. The Godiva Awards are much coveted and are considered to be the premier prizes for businesses and people in the area. The Ambassadors Award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Coventry and Warwickshire and is voted for by the City of Coventry Ambassadors Group. It reflects Mr Benfield’s work in both the business and voluntary community. He was instrumental in bringing the new ACT-UK construction Simulation centre to the city and regularly helps out local charities, as well as being an active member of the business community. A Freeman of the City of Coventry, he is President of the Enterprise Club for Disabled People, President of Three Spires Musical Society, President of the Royal Society of St George – Warwickshire and has recently been appointed President of the City of Coventry Scout County. He has just completed eight years service as a Governor of Coventry University. He said: “I am deeply honoured. It came as a total surprise on the night and I am delighted to have been given this award. “As well as running a business, I have always been extremely keen to work on behalf of the city and the region, whether that is through promoting Coventry and Warwickshire or helping out local good causes. “You don’t expect to win awards because of that but I am absolutely delighted and humbled to have been recognised in this way.” |
